Atlas Veterinary Urgent Care is a busy, privately owned urgent care/soft ER hospital that opened in September and has quickly become a valued resource within the community. We maintain a steady urgent and emergency caseload (with a little GP follow-up sprinkled in) and continue expanding our services, including urgent care surgery. We are what the community needs us to be.

Our culture is built around strength, compassion, trust, teamwork, humor, authenticity, and supporting each other through the daily chaos of urgent care medicine. Our team already feels like we’ve been working together for years, and we pride ourselves on maintaining a collaborative, supportive environment while practicing high-quality medicine.

We work hard, laugh a lot, swear a little (okay…we swear A LOT), eat lots of snacks, fuel our caffeine addictions with Starbucks, and work through the organized chaos of urgent care medicine together in Augusta, Maine—with humor, teamwork, authenticity, and the ability to know when it’s time to dig deep and provide emotional support and compassion to both our clients and each other.

We are also proudly privately owned—meaning no corporate red tape, no endless layers of management, and the ability to practice medicine with common sense and flexibility. We are seeking a full-time or part-time veterinarian to join our growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a veterinarian who enjoys a fast-paced environment, collaborative medicine, and helping shape a growing hospital where their input truly matters.

Current hours of operation (with plans to expand in the future, but NEVER overnight!):
Mon–Fri: 12pm–8pm
Sat: 10am–8pm
Sun: 10am–6pm

Requirements

        DVM or equivalent degree

        Eligible for veterinary licensure in Maine

        DEA license (or ability to obtain)

        Comfortable managing urgent care and emergency-style cases

        Comfortable working evenings (not overnights), weekends, and select holidays

        Strong communication, teamwork mentality, sense of humor

        Open-minded, ADAPTABLE, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment

Preferred but not required:

       Emergency and/or urgent care experience 

       Soft tissue surgery experience

       Experience with exotics
