The Rhode Island SPCA is seeking a veterinarian for part-time or full-time work in our newly opened Animal Health Center. The Rhode Island SPCA Animal Health Center will provide medical and surgical services for dogs and cats. We will serve the shelter animal population in the custody of the Rhode Island SPCA, as well as provide affordable medical care for pets owned by the public. This position reports directly to the Medical Director.
We are seeking a highly motivated self-starter, a team player, and have effective interpersonal skills. A license to practice Veterinary Medicine in the state of Rhode Island is required.
Perform physical examinations in our Animal Health Center
Be comfortable treating a wide range of minor illnesses
Perform surgical and dental procedures depending on your comfort level

Founded in 1870, the Rhode Island SPCA is the oldest nonprofit animal welfare organization in the state of Rhode Island and the third oldest in the country. We are animal care and resource center and provide adoption and rehoming services, veterinary care, humane education, training support, and pet owner assistance programs. The Rhode Island SPCA is also are the only organization in the state that is legally able to investigate and prosecute cases of animal cruelty and neglect and takes an active role in legislative matters concerning the welfare of all animals in our state.
