Privately-owned, well-established companion-animal clinic seeks a positive, compassionate and hard-working individual for our growing companion animal practice in Schoharie, NY. Located just outside the Capital District, we are centrally located near lakes and mountains of the Catskills and Adirondacks while within commuting distance to Albany and just a couple of hours to New York City. Our building has been expanded to over 4,000 square feet, with in-house laboratory, Digital X-ray, dental machine and surgery. The facility allows us to continue to provide exceptional, state of the art care and services for many years to come. We have a friendly work environment and excellent support staff. We seek candidates who will be dedicated and motivated with high standards for patient care and client satisfaction. This includes being able to communicate sincerely with clients without pretense and with empathy when necessary. Other basic requirements include appropriate knowledge of vaccination and parasite control protocols, and preventative care measures. Ability to prepare treatment plans (estimates) to present to client; perform and interpret diagnostics including laboratory tests, radiography, EKG; know and communicate risks and benefits of sedation, anesthesia, any surgical procedures or supportive care. Perform elective surgeries, general soft tissue surgery, general dentistry, radiography. General knowledge of veterinary software would be helpful. A small part of the practice includes seeing farm animals (sheep, goats, alpacas). An interest in such animals would be helpful.
