Metropolitan Veterinary Center is seeking a full-time Associate Veterinarian to join our team in the South Loop of Chicago. The South Loop is home to the beautiful lakefront Museum Campus, where you can find Chicago's largest museums, Shedd Aquarium, Adler Planetarium, and the monumental Field Museum. You can find jazz clubs, mix of crowd-pleasing restaurants, and vibrant historic areas, just to name a few of the many perks of the area!
We are a 4.5 doctor practice looking for the right candidate to add to our team. The perfect candidate has a minimum of 3 years experience with a deeply ingrained desire to practice high quality medicine and connect with clients. MetroVet encourages work life balance and is able to offer a flexible schedule which includes working some weekends but never major holidays or any on-call.
Our team is lead by a Certified Veterinary Practice Manager and a Medical Director with a combined 40 years of veterinary experience. Regular doctor meetings (every two weeks) serve to discuss work flow, case challenges and successes or new concepts which may facilitate improved patient care or client service.
MetroVet is a privately owned practice that opened in 2012. In these days of massive corporate mergers and corporate buyouts of previously independent veterinary hospitals, we can assure you that Metropolitan Veterinary Center remains an independent, woman-owned, small business that is dedicated to our patients, our clients, our employees, and our community.
Our team is an intelligent, hard-working, and passionate group that focus on teamwork and a positive work environment. We are looking for someone that can join our team that will provide the highest quality medicine, provide leadership, and maintain excellent client communication and client services.
We are open 7 days a week from 7am-8pm, which can provide a flexible work schedule and create a nice work/life balance. We offer health insurance, dental, pet service discount, PTO, sick time, CE allowance, and license renewals.
We are open to accepting applicants for part-time positions as well.
About Metropolitan Veterinary Center
Metropolitan Veterinary Center was established in 2012 by Dr. Kjerstin Jacobs. She founded the practice based on her observation that there was an unmet need for high quality, reasonably priced medical and surgical care for Chicago’s beloved pets, not only on weekdays but on weekends and late evenings as well.
