Eagle River is a bedroom community 15 miles north of Anchorage. It is nestled in the Eagle River Valley of Chugach State Park, providing abundant outdoor activities close by. This scenic mountain town has all the amenities you need without the congestion and crowds of Anchorage. VCA Eagle River is a thriving, fast-paced hospital that provides urgent care in addition to wellness services. We have a busy surgical service, performing daily dental and soft tissue procedures. We have an efficient workflow with a well-trained support team, leveraging your time to focus on patient care while supporting a healthy work-life balance. We host veterinary externs, technician interns and mentor VCA new graduates DVMs, which allows us to maintain a culture of learning. Two of our DVMs have 20+ years experience and we enjoy mentorship and encourage new graduates to join our team. A few highlights of our hospital include: ~ AAHA accredited hospital for over 25 years ~ Offer advanced diagnostic and surgical services, wellness and urgent care ~ Equipment includes: Endoscopy, ultrasound, electronic medical records system, digital radiography, advanced anesthesia monitoring equipment, Bovie electrosurgery with smoke evacuation, full in-house laboratory equipment, separate dental suite with digital radiography and new dental unit ~ Spacious, 2 story, modern building with 4 exams rooms, 2 table surgical suite, 2 wet tables in treatment room with patient recovery bays, radiology/ultrasound room, isolation room, and dental suite ~ Medical team includes 4 Veterinarians, 6 Veterinary Technicians (3 are CVTs), and 6 Technician ~ Alaska doctors also benefit from yearly CE wet labs and bimonthly grand rounds/journal club In this position you'll use your superior medical judgment combined with a high level of empathy, confidence and humility to build a loyal client base and heal pets.
