Do you want to be part of the solution, while having a work/life balance? We are a high quality, nonprofit, spay/neuter and wellness clinic for cats. We are expanding our services and are looking for a full or part-time (approx. 20-30 hours per week for part-time-some Saturdays required) veterinarian for spay/neuter surgeries, amputations, entropion surgery and enucleations as well as dental cleaning for strays and ferals. You would also do wellness exams and basic testing (fecal, FeLV, FIV, etc.).
Only want to do spay/neuter and no other surgeries? No, problem; we can work with that.
On average we do 20-25 surgeries during a ten hour day and wellness after surgeries. Would prefer an applicant with strong surgical experience, but we are willing to train if you have a desire and passion for surgery. We are currently working ten hour days, but have flexibility to meet your needs.
This is a fast paced job that is extremely rewarding at the end of the day. We take great pride in giving each cat, whether feral or pet, the best possible experience it can have while here. Ferals are treated for anything we are able to (including URTI, wounds, etc.) before being returned to their caretaker.
To date, we have spayed or neutered over 28,000 cats since opening in January 2014. We have worked with our local SPCA to become a low kill shelter from being an extremely high kill shelter. They no longer euthanize for space and have adopted TNR as part of their program. We have great community support and are looking for someone to be part of the next expansion.
Competitive pay based on experience.
Flexibility with hours/days, except for Saturdays of which some are required.
No on call or emergency hours.
When you are off work you are free to enjoy your life.
Experienced, competent and fun loving staff
Health insurance, paid holiday and vacation available for full time, negotiable for part time
Williamsport is in northcentral PA and is less than a three hour drive to NYC, Philly, Baltimore and Pittsburgh.
This would also qualify for the student loan forgiveness program.
Prefer trong surgical background.
Prefer a candidate that is able to perform amputations, enucleations, entropion surgeries and others surgeries, as needed, but will absolutely work with someone just interested in spay/neuter.
Dental cleaning experience a plus, but not required.
Must be comfortable working with cats, including ferals.
Must have PA veterinarian license.
Prefer applicant to have or be able to get a DEA license.

About Beckoning Cat Project
We are a 501 (c) 3 non profit organization that operates a low cost spay/neuter clinic for cats. We accept all cats and have no geographic or income limitations. Since opening our clinic in January 2014 we have spayed/neutered over 28,000 cats. We assist owners with TNR and work with local shelters in an effort to stop euthanasia as a means of population control for cats. When we started our local SPCA was euthanizing nearly 3,000 cats per year. They have just recently stopped euthanizing cats as a means of population control.
