Arvada Flats Veterinary Hospital is seeking a full or part- time associate veterinarian to fill the shoes of our beloved colleague who retired after a long, fulfilling career. We are a 5- doctor practice in the foothills of West Arvada bordering on the cities of Golden and Boulder. We see mostly dogs and cats, with the rare exotic pet visiting to see one of our doctors who is skilled in their healthcare. Our days consist of wellness visits, general soft tissue surgery, sick/problem pet visits and healthcare, some emergencies and also orthopedic procedures, as well as dentistry. We offer state- of- the art diagnostics with our in-house lab, digital radiology, ultrasound, and send out lab for tests that require a pathologist. Our clientele are pet- centered and enjoyable. We are able to practice high-quality veterinary medicine within our community and have a wonderfully trained team who has been with us for years. Our practice is a special place and we are looking for that ideal candidate to join us.
Our ideal candidate would have some experience as a small animal veterinarian in a general practice. Soft tissue surgical skill, beyond basic ideally, dentistry and experience diagnosing and treating acute and chronic disease conditions in small animals. We are looking for someone who enjoys their profession, works well with our team, and is hard-working/enjoys being busy and challenged. Our clients are very important to us and having a mind-set of giving clients options for their pet care and coming to conclusions about decisions about diagnostics and treatment through open, calm and respectful discussions with pet owners is a must. The other doctors in our practice are accustomed to working together, brainstorming treatments if needed, looking at radiographs with each other and creating a safe, collaborative environment for the technicians and each other to perform at our very best for our patients. We would like someone who is excited about the profession and brings that special something to the practice.
Our new associate will be responsible for wellness appointments, triaging, diagnosing and managing both the acute and chronic conditions that occur in dogs and cats, general surgery such as spays, neuters and mass removal, more advanced soft tissue surgeries such as cystotomies, intestinal or gastric foreign bodies, and wound repairs, dentistry to include reading dental radiographs, surgical extractions, and bonded sealants.
