DVM or equivalent
Founded in 1973, Hi Tor Animal Care Center takes in over 2,000 animals each year and is the only open managed admission shelter in Rockland County.
The work of veterinarians in the shelter is coordinated through an Animal Welfare committee. Veterinarians can contribute in many ways - from treating a sick animal to creating protocols for shelter management.
You can volunteer for just an hour or two a week and build a schedule that fits your availability.
