Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor of Farm Practice—Equine Emphasis. The Department of Large Animal Medicine, College of Veterinary Medicine, at the University of Georgia invites applications for an Clinical Assistant/Associate Professorship in Farm Practice with an equine emphasis, available starting April 1, 2020. Candidates must have a DVM or equivalent degree from an accredited college of veterinary medicine. To be considered for the rank of Clinical Assistant Professor (Non-Tenure Track), candidates must have a DVM or equivalent degree; have 4 years post-DVM experience in equine clinical medicine, surgery, or general practice. Board certification or eligibility for board certification in a relevant discipline is highly desirable and board certification is a requirement for promotion. Additionally, it is advantageous if the applicant has experience in clinical, laboratory, and didactic teaching of veterinary students. To be considered for the rank of Clinical Associate Professor (Non-Tenure Track), candidates must have a DVM or equivalent degree; have a minimum of 9 years post-DVM experience (at the time of appointment), at least five of which include clinical, laboratory, and didactic teaching of veterinary students; and be a board certified in a relevant discipline. The primary responsibilities of this position are divided between teaching first opinion practice, primarily equine, to veterinary students, supervising the training of interns, and providing care for animals presented to the Veterinary Teaching Hospital Farm Practice Service. Additionally, an interest in small ruminants and new world camelids is advantageous. The successful candidate will also be expected to participate in the didactic and laboratory courses. All faculty members are expected to participate in scholarly activity, but establishing an independent research program is not expected, though collaborative research is encouraged. The teaching and service activities in the Veterinary Teaching Hospital are shared with two other Farm Practice clinicians. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
