| Come join the New Jersey Racing Commission in an exciting opportunity as a Veterinarian! The New Jersey Racing Commission examines equines for racing soundness prior to competition; observes horses during the race and post-race; handles on-track emergencies as they arise; takes blood samples and coordinates, or otherwise supervises, the taking of blood; urine and other samples. Graduation from an accredited College of Veterinary Medicine approved by the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) with a degree of Doctor of Veterinary Medicine, or completion of the training program administered by the Educational Commission for Foreign Veterinary Graduates (ECFVG) of the (AVMA), or the Program for the Assessment of Veterinary Education Equivalence (PAVE) of the American Association of Veterinary State Boards (AAVSB), or achievement of diplomat status in any (AVMA) specialty board. Appointees must possess a passing grade, as determined by the test sponsor, on the National Board Exam and the Clinical Competency test or equivalent test, or passage of the Educational Commission for Foreign Veterinary Graduates (ECFVG) of the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA), or the Program for the Assessment of Veterinary Education Equivalence (PAVE) of the American Association of Veterinary State Boards (AAVSB), or achievement of diplomat status in any (AVMA) specialty board. Appointees will be required to possess a driver's license valid in New Jersey. Please note Equine or racetrack experience preferred.
