Buffalo Small Animal Hospital is an AAHA accredited practice that offers primary care services, day-time emergency care, general surgery, and dental services. Our goal is to deliver the gold-standard of care, and our team strives to keep our protocols as current and up to date as possible. The Associate Veterinarian is an invaluable member of our hospital team. This Veterinarian will work directly with the rest of our fantastic medical team to help emphasize and advance the quality of medicine in the practice, as we provide exceptional service and care to our clients and patients.
Perform physical examinations, determine and complete appropriate diagnostic, medical, surgical, and dental procedures that deliver the highest quality care while minimizing patient stress and discomfort.
Build a rapport with clients by gathering information and listening to and empathizing with their concerns.
Communicate with clients on topics such as pet health assessment, treatment plans, preventive health care, and nutritional needs.
Maintain medical records in a thorough and timely fashion, keeping in-line with our established protocols.
Stay current on new medical information and changes in veterinary medicine.
Assist in and support the development of the paraprofessional team to ensure delivery of the highest quality care and exceptional client service.
Present a positive image of the hospital in the professional community and to the general public.
Skills and Basic Qualifications
A Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or related degree from an accredited university.
Licensure in good standing to practice in the state in which applicant is to be employed.
Commitment to practicing the highest standard of medicine and upholding veterinary code of ethics.
Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Works collaboratively with hospital team members.
Makes decisions confidently and effectively.
Manages time and tasks appropriately.
Models a professional and courteous manner with staff and clients.
